Dealing with alcohol, gambling addiction and spousal abuse. How this family grows with their faith in God, band together and overcome their struggles. The mother is the heroine of the story. She is the prayer warrior wife and mother who struggles to keep food on the table and money in the house. With little money and limited ingredients, she prepare this special dish that has a lasting affect on the older child. She is a homemaker and does not work. Her husband is the bread-winner who has a gambling and alcohol addiction which induces the abuse of the mother both physically and verbally. The children learn to band together to support and protect the mother.
